

Kenneth was born on September 20, 1933, in Guilford County, the son of Raymond Ellis and Alma Cook Holland. He served his country in the US Army from 1951 to 1954. Following his military service, he started working at General Motor Repair. In 1956, he purchased the company and was the owner until he retired 1997. Kenneth loved to garden, fish, and play golf. His passion was his family and the time he could spend with them. He will be deeply missed by all.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of sixty years, Gail Medlin Holland of the home; daughters, Cindy Putnam and husband Bruce, Brenda Odum and husband Harold (deceased), Shelia Taro and husband Sal; grandchildren, Andrew and Austin Putnam, Houston Odum , Max and Ginger Taro; step granddaughters, Barbara Putnam Cox and Renee’ Putnam Porter; sisters, Nancy Smith and Barbara Powell and brother, Joe Bill Holland. Kenneth was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack and Bobby Holland and his sister, Ruby Hutton and granddaughter, Allie Holland Odum.
The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. on Friday before the service at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. The Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Charles Mustian officiating. Entombment with military honors will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Dr. Thomas Brackbill and Dr. Mohamed Mohamed and their staffs for the kindness and care extended to Kenneth.
