Kenneth “Ken” Wayne McPherson, 72, a resident of Greensboro passed away on Saturday August 31, 2024. He was born August 13, 1952 in Greensboro, the son of Virgil Allen and Ruby Lee Causey McPherson.
Ken was a graduate of Southeast Guilford High School. He was Vice President of Sales with T&S Fire & Security. He served as a volunteer firefighter. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Genny McPherson Prentice and his brothers, Jerry McPherson, Bobby McPherson and Rick McPherson, and step siblings Bill Pardue, Jimmy Pardue, and Judy Pardue.
Ken is survived by his wife, Kim Myers McPherson; one daughter, Kendell McPherson Huneycutt and husband Jay of Archdale; one sister, Kim Hanner and husband Leslie of Greensboro; two grandchildren, Jessica Ann Myers Huneycutt, Emily Grace Huneycutt; a special niece Shannon Mitchell and husband James Mitchell and their children, Sabin Mitchell, Caroline Mitchell, Mason Mitchell and Reese Mitchell. Ken also had the honor to be “Uncle Kenny” to twenty-six nieces and nephews and over fifty great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service for Ken will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday September 7, 2024, at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by the Reverend Dr. Howard McNeill. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
