Letty Sylvania Brande

Peacefully Mrs. Brande passed away in Fairfax, Virginia on Sunday, July 9th with family by her side. Her service of remembrance will be Friday, July 14th, with receiving at 11am and service following in Greensboro, NC at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel and Guilford Memorial Park.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph R. Brande of Arlington VA, her daughter, Camille Wimberly Withers, of Hickory, NC, granddaughter, Leslie Jene Painter of Clifton, VA, grandson, James Edward Withers of Conover, NC, great-granddaughter, Alannah Paige Withers of Clifton, VA. She is also survived by stepdaughters, Gail McGurk and husband, Robert, Sharon Phillips and husband, Randy of Georgia along with four step-grandchildren and several great-step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Aquilla Eugene Wimberly.

She was employed as a beautician and at Coca Cola Bottling Company in Greensboro, NC. She played tennis many years ago, loved her vegetable and flower garden, baking chocolate cake and making strawberry jelly which she shared with neighbors and family. She was a woman of prayer and prayed daily for family, friends and current events. She was a member of Columbia Baptist Church in Falls Church, VA and a former member of Immanual Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC.

We wish to thank all who patiently and lovingly cared for her during the last years of her life. Also, thank you to family and friends who have shown concern and prayed for her and her family.

Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to Music Scholarship Fund at Viewmont Baptist Church in Hickory, NC or Hospice of Fairfax Co., in Fairfax, VA.
