Lorna Joyce Hill

Greensboro- Joyce Carroll Hill died September 5, 2014 following a brief illness. She was born May 29, 1924, the youngest daughter of A. Glenn and Vida Holt Carroll. She had resided in McAdoo Heights on Roseland Street for over 50 years and was a long-time faithful member of True Light Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda K. Hadnott, grandhcildren, Sandra West, Robb Baxley, Keith Baxley, Shannon Mabe, Tina Bentley, Lena Harlan, Anita Gillette, Shellie Beane, and Cassie Sawyer, and daughter-in-law, Marie Hill. She was predeceased by her husband, H. Clarence Hill, son, Charles Richard Hill and sisters, Ruby Carroll Ward and Dorcas Carroll Smith.

Joyce was a fiercely independent woman; occasionally mischievous but always gracious, accepting and pure in heart. She will be terribly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends Monday, September 8, at 12:00 noon at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm chapel, followed by graveside services at 1 PM in Green Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to True Light Baptist Church, 3711 Flint St., Greensboro, NC 27405.
