

Devoted husband, supportive father and loving grandfather, Barry Cohen, died at age 70, after a short but uncompromising attack from cancer. His life will be remembered during a service at 2 PM, Monday, February 5, 2018, at Lakeview Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends in the mausoleum chapel prior to the service at 1 PM.
Marvin Barry Cohen, son of William and Sara Levine Cohen, was born in Richmond, VA. He lived a life of caring and protecting others, as a US Army Medic in Vietnam from 1966 to 1969, serving as an EMT and Police Officer in FL and NC and providing information to the community on TV as host of Piedmont Crime Control. He consistently gave of himself, served the less fortunate, and had a passion in his heart to serve his community. Barry had a soft spot in his heart for animals, was a wonderful cook and appreciated an educated discussion of politics. He shared 22 wonderful years of marriage with Linda Fannin Cohen, who he met in 1990.
In addition to Linda he is survived by his children, William Erik Cohen (Tamar) of Lakewood, NJ, Stefanie Erin Cohen Beirley (Leigh) of Kennewick, WA, Adrian Cheryl Killinger Cohen of St. Petersburg, FL, Greg Barbour (Nancy), Tracy Barbour, Tari Barbour Wilson (Brian) all of Greensboro, Angela Pridgen of Oak Ridge, Ray Pridgen of Greensboro and Shane Pridgen of Reidsville; brother, Sidney J. Cohen, CPO, US Navy, Ret. (Donna), 23 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
