

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at First Baptist Church, in the Sanctuary, 1000 W.Friendly Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27401, with the Reverend Alan Sherouse officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Atrium. A private committal will be held at Westminster Gardens Mausoleum.
Mable Ann was born September 14, 1931, in Sampson County, NC to the late William Stanley and Juanita Melvin West. She graduated from East Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in education and taught in the Raleigh Public Schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School Class to four year old children. For many years she was very active in garden clubs and PTA. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, her pet cats, spending the holidays with her family, and she particularly enjoyed cooking for the family at the beach. Her thoughtfulness and generosity will be remembered by friends and family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wiggins was preceded in death by her sister, Lois West. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert E. “Bob” Wiggins, Sr. of the home; daughter, Pamela W. Key and her husband Perry of Greensboro; son Dr. Robert E. Wiggins, Jr. and his wife Kim of Asheville; grandchildren, Robert E. Wiggins, III, Benjamin West Wiggins, Melissa Grace Wiggins, Courtney Ann Key and Steven Perry Key and her sister Winifred “Winnie” Partlow of Atlanta, GA.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of McEwen House at Pennybyrn for the compassion and care they gave to Mable Ann and her family during her stay.
