Mae Duncan Hollifield

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, at Lebanon Baptist Church, 4635 Hicone Road, Greensboro with Rev. Derek Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Born in Boiling Springs, NC, to the late Luther and Lena Duncan, Ms. Hollifield was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, cooking, traveling, the beach, but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Everette Hollifield; two sisters and two brothers.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Sheila Murrell of Greensboro, Susan Hollifield of Pittsburgh, PA, and Dawn Myers and her husband Linc of Greensboro; son, Danny Hollifield and his wife Joann of Greensboro; sister, Polly Robbins; grandchildren, Erica Long, Derek Bailey, Kyndall Schmidt, Daniel Schmidt, Michael Hollifield, Grayson Myers, and Cody Myers; and 6 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm, Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel.
