

Visitation will be at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home, North Elm Street Chapel, in Greensboro, on Sunday, March 13, 2016, from 2-3 pm. The funeral service will be at 3 pm at Hanes Lineberry Chapel, with interment to follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
She was born November 1, 1926, in Greensboro to Henry Arthur Kellam and Virginia Brannock Kellam. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin L. Phillips, and her sisters Vivian Kelly, Evelyn Kellam and Cynthia K. Carr.
She was a graduate of Greensboro Senior High School. She was an avid golfer, traveling and playing in golf tournaments throughout the area, belonging to several golf clubs. She embraced and enjoyed life to the fullest, with an incredible zest for life and infectious smile. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Left to cherish their memories and love for her are her daughters Diane P. Smith (Chris), Virginia (Jenny) P. Lucas (Marshall), and sons Dr. Edwin (Lewie) Phillips (Beryl), and James (Jeff) Phillips (Sue Ann).
She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Brett (Krystle) Smith, Christine (Adrian) Alvarado, Catherine Smith, and Hayley Smith, Ashley Phillips, Jeff Phillips II (Jen), Caroll Prevette (Kenny), Katie Cascio and Cassie Cruthis; and her 12 great grandchildren. Her love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was uncompromised and their love for her will always be treasured.
