

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Marilyn Kuhn, who departed this life peacefully in her sleep on August 22, at the age of 86. She was surrounded by the comfort and love of family and friends in Greensboro, North Carolina, where she had made her home for the past decade.
Marilyn was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois, the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Stefancic. She dedicated her professional life to serving diligently as a switchboard operator for AT&T, subsequently Illinois Department of Public Health working in the Immunization department. Her commitment to excellence and compassionate nature were evident throughout her career.
Marilyn’s presence was a beacon of warmth and joy to all who knew her. Blessed with a contagious laugh and a vivacious spirit, she naturally became the light of every room she entered. She held a genuine love for gardening, often finding peace and fulfillment among her flowers and plants. Marilyn was also an avid reader, that brought her so much joy. She never missed a Chicago Bulls game as she was more than just an avid fan! She cherished time spent with friends, whether sharing heartfelt conversations over a cup of coffee or a card game with her closest friends. Her kindness, and unwavering support enriched the lives of family, friends, and colleagues alike.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Dawn, who will continue to honor her mother’s legacy of love, grace, and indomitable spirit.
A private family celebration of life will be held to commemorate Marilyn’s remarkable journey and the cherished memories she leaves behind. Her spirit will live on eternally in the hearts of all who were privileged to know her.
