Mark was born in Harrisonburg, VA on December 24, 1958 to the late Henry “Hank” Dorman and Lavon “Bonnie” Holsinger who survives. He graduated from Montevideo High School in 1978 where he was a star on the football field, basketball court, and golf course.
Mark was a skilled craftsman who worked in a variety of trades over the years, many of those alongside his brother, Dana. Most recently, Mark had been driving a tractor trailer.
Like his father, Mark was a lifelong sports fan who proudly (and sometimes loudly) supported the University of Virginia Cavaliers despite decades of residency in North Carolina. Mark was an accomplished outdoorsman who loved his time in the woods or on the water as well as time spent playing golf with friends. He was a fun-loving, jovial friend to many, and his stories and laughter will be sorely missed.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Hank in 2010. He is survived by his former wife, Joni, daughter, Averi, step-son Aaron, step-daughter, Ashli Snodgrass and her husband Jameson of Raleigh. He is also survived by his mother, Lavon “Bonnie” Holsinger and husband, Richard of Harrisonburg, VA, brother, Terry and wife Donna of Elkton, VA, and brother Dana who he resided with in Greensboro. Mark is also survived by a granddaughter, Mahogany and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd. in Greensboro, NC on Sunday, March 31st from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A Memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m.
