A celebration of her life will be held Sunday, July 22, 2018, 2:00 p.m., at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel. Friends will be received immediately following the service.
Marti was born March 31, 1951 in Salisbury, the daughter of James Alan Culp and Janis Williamson Culp.
Marti graduated from Presbyterian Nursing School in Charlotte and worked as a registered nurse for over 40 years with Moses Cone Hospital, Baptist Hospital and the LeBauer group. Her caring demeanor was a natural fit with nursing. Marti was a quiet, contemplative person who enjoyed reading her Bible and taking walks in the park with her dogs. Most of all, Marti enjoyed spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 45 years, Kenneth Helms; daughter, Melinda Sander and husband Todd, and her grandchildren, Rutledge, Helms, William and Elizabeth Sander.
The Helms family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Unit 8CC West at Baptist Hospital for their exemplary care of Marti.
