

Mrs. Mary Lee Chadwick, 87, of Greensboro, died Friday, April 4, 2014 at Wesley Long Hospital.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, 3:00 p.m., at Forest Lawn Cemetery by Dr. Stephen Pressley.
Mary Lee was born January 29, 1927 in Cleveland, OH, the daughter of James Everett Walker and Sarah Davis Walker.
Mary Lee was raised in a Christian home in Akron, OH and following graduation from East High School, her family settled in Farmville, VA. In 1948 she married Harper Blanks Chadwick, Jr. of Ontario, VA and settled in Greensboro, NC. As a homemaker and mother, she gave birth to two sons, Richard and Lawrence. She raised them with love and compassion, nursed them through illness, and nourished them with fine cooking. After the children were grown, she became a bank teller for NCNB (now Bank of America) for several years until her retirement in 1989. Mary Lee was a 50 plus year member of First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and Baptist Training Union. She was a supporter of the WMU and was involved in several charitable activities of the church.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mary Lee was preceded in death by her son Richard, two brothers and one sister.
Surviving are her son Lawrence Glenn Chadwick; grandson, Brian Clinton Chadwick; two great- grandchildren, Charlotte and Hudson Chadwick.
Friends will be received Monday, 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel.
