Mary Goodwin Cromwell

Mary Goodwin Cromwell, 96, died peacefully in her sleep Friday, June 12, 2015 at Universal Health Care in Fletcher, NC after a very brief illness. She had been a resident at Universal for the last seven years.

Mary was born to Malcolm Noyes and Verna Bosher Goodwin and grew up in Greensboro. After her father’s death in 1920, her mother married Norman Moury who was a beloved father to her. She is survived by her daughter Mary Jane Cromwell of Asheville; brother, Dan Moury and wife Carolyn of Winston Salem, eight nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her lifelong Christian friends and traveling buddies, Rosemary Troxler of Greensboro, Doris Copeland of Ocala, FL and Barbara Dent of Casselberry, FL. Her brother, Malcolm N. Goodwin, Jr. died some years ago.

A service to celebrate her life will be at 3 PM, Tuesday, at Hanes-Lineberry North Elm chapel with interment to follow at Green Hill cemetery.
