Michael H. Harrison, 77, passed away at his home in Summerfield Sunday, September 14, 2025. He was born in Salisbury, North Carolina, August 3, 1948, to the late Evelyn and J. Clifford (Tip) Harrison. After graduating from Boyden High School, he accepted a football scholarship to Virginia Tech, transferred and graduated from NC State University with a degree in engineering. He was co-owner of Steel Bar Corporation in Greensboro until the company was sold and he retired at age 57 and as he said, never looked back!
Mike and Lee had many special memories of spending time at Smith Mountain Lake, golf for Mike and time together with friends and family on the lake with their boat Jumbo. An avid golfer, he was proud to say he had a hole in one at the Country Club of Salisbury and continued playing golf at Sedgefield Country Club with his usual foursome of friends on Fridays. Mike and his wife Lee were owners of Breezy Hill Farm and raised quarter horses and for a number of years were known to foster many horses over the years.
In addition to his parents Mike was predeceased by his sister Jan Harrison Gillespie, brother-in-law, Bill Wallin and nephew Chris Spencer. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 42 years, Lee Dix Harrison, sister, Zandra Harrison Spencer, goddaughters Sarah Lak, and Mary Stanley and special god granddaughters Ollie, Effie and Ayden plus the best of pets, Dash and Olive.
Hanes Lineberry Funeral home is assisting the Harrison family.
