Miss Nellie “Nell” Elmore Whitley, 101, a resident of Greensboro died Sunday August 5, 2012. Miss Whitley was born August 1, 1911 in Davidson County, the daughter of Fabius and Lougene Walker Whitley. She worked for many years at the Mock Judson “Mo-Jud” Voringer Mill in Greensboro. She was the oldest living member of Friendly Avenue Church of Christ.
Miss Whitley was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Leona W. Tritt and Doris W. Wynn and her brothers, Ferg Whitley and T.L. Whitley.
She is survived by one niece and four nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Friendly Ave. Church of Christ conducted by Jason Noble and Ron Newberry. Interment will be in Guilford Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
