Nellie Marsh Wilson

GREENSBORO–Nellie Marsh Wilson died on December 30, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 2, at New Bessemer Baptist Church. The family will receive visitors in the church after the service. Interment will follow at a later date.

Ms. Wilson was born on August 2, 1919 to Merlin and Mecie Marsh, originally of Surry County. After the family moved to Greensboro, she graduated from Bessemer High School and later retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company. For many years, she volunteered at the front desk of Women’s Hospital.

Ms. Wilson is survived by her children Ronald Lee Wilson and his wife, Linda, of Greensboro and Boyd Steven (Steve) Wilson of Cave Creek, Arizona; grandchildren Sandra Wilson Howell and her husband, Gary, of Greensboro, Lisa Wilson McGee and her husband, Archie, of Stokesdale, Lauren Elizabeth Wilson of Los Angeles, Carla Anne Byers of Milton, Florida, and Brooke Wilson of Fort Knox, Kentucky; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother Reid Marsh of Reidsville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter Carol Dianne Wilson, son Randy Phillip Wilson, sister Vivian Miller of Greensboro and four other siblings.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Bessemer Baptist Church, 4115 Hines Chapel Road, McLeansville, NC 27301, where Nellie was a dedicated lifetime member.
