“On Sunday morning, August 1st, 2010, we had to release you, Reggie, into the loving arms of Jesus. Even though it was the hardest thing we have ever had to do, we realized God was ready to put His final touches on you. My son, you are now walking the streets of gold, singing in God’s choir, talking and doing all of the things you could not do here on Earth. You were a gift to us, our Earth angel baby, and our only wish would have been to have had you a few more years. Know that we love you beyond measure and you were truly our gift from God.”
Reggie was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Nita “Maw Maw” Huckabee, paternal grandparents, Raymond and Eva Hodges, and aunt, Peggy Suttles.
Reggie is survived by his parents, Deanna and George Hodges, brothers, Jesse, Bryan, Ryan, sisters, Cheyenne Hodges, Alison Jane Lagos, grandfather, Pete Huckabee and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will greet visitors from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Vanstory St. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 4 at Life Community Church with pastors Jake Thornhill, Jr., Barry Darnell and Randy Huckabee officiating, and Greg Ottaway will sing. Burial will follow at Westminster Gardens Cemetery.
Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to Life Community Church, 4900 W. Wendover Ave., Jamestown, NC 27282.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to the team at Baptist Hospital who worked so hard on Reggie-we know you did all you could do for him.
Our love and thanks to Aunt Sue and Shawn who loved him like their own, and to Aunt Sheryl who loved him and read God’s word to him daily. “To know Reggie was to love him”.
