

Rena Page Christopher., 88, died Monday, December 26, 2011 at Well Spring Retirement Community. Her funeral service will be 11:00 AM Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Guilford Park Presbyterian Church and burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Christopher was born June 9, 1923 in Drexel, NC and was the daughter of Martha Rector and Patrick Page. She was a charter member of Guilford Park Presbyterian Church and for over 50 years a member of the Greensboro Chapter # 14 of Eastern Star.
Rena had been a foster mother for the Children’s Home Society of NC, Sunday school teacher, Red Cross Bloodmobile volunteer, Meals on Wheels volunteer and Girls Scout leader for 9 years.
She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, sewing, tole painting, and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 69 years John O Christopher, Sr. beloved son John Christopher, Jr.; four sisters and 3 brothers.
Surviving are her daughters Gay C. Rudisill of Huntersville, NC and Karen C. Smith and her husband Joseph of Stoneville, NC; daughter-in-law Anne T. Christopher of Summerfield; sister in-laws, Virginia Mitchell of Greensboro and Peggy (Buck) McDonald of Meadows of Dan, VA and Mary Christopher of Greensboro, NC; 9 grandchildren, Leslie (Mark) Malikowski, Edward (Kathy) Christopher, Richard (Tracey) Rudisill, Jr., Allison (David) Engler, Maria (Chris) Streck, Jake Rudisill, Brad (Christy) Smith, Leigh (Crystal) Smith, Blair Smith and 21 great grandchildren.
The family expresses their appreciation to the special caregivers Tisha MerChant and Barbara Brown and the competent, caring staff of Well Spring Retirement Community.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s own choosing.
