Richard Walker Lenhart

Richard Walker Lenhart, 76, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with burial following at Westminster Gardens Cemetery.

Richard was a Pennsylvania native, one of six children of Robert and Anna Walker Lenhart. He was a graduate of Milton Hershey High School, and a veteran of the US Army and the Korean Conflict. He earned an Associates degree in business administration from Jefferson College. He worked with the Pierce Homes until his retirement, and was involved with many land development projects in the Triad area.

Richard was a member of the First Christian Church in Kernersville, and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of fifty years, Louise Wright Lenhart of the home; son, Jeff Lenhart and his wife Susan of High Point, NC; son Brian Lenhart; son Todd Lenhart and his wife April, all of Kernersville, NC; seven grandchildren, one great grandchild and one step grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Kernersville, 1130 N. Main Street, Kernersville, NC 27284 or to The American Heart Association.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening form 7 to 9 pm at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
