Richard "Rick" Talmadge Sneed Jr.

Greensboro, NC: Mr. Richard (Rick) Talmadge Sneed, Jr., 64, died Wednesday morning at Moses Cone Hospital. A service celebrating his life will be held on 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 2, 2012 at the Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm St. Funeral home and the family will gather with friends at the Starmount Country Club following the service from 3:30-5:30 PM.

A native of Winston-Salem, NC he is the son of Jean and Richard Talmadge Sneed, Sr. He attended local schools, Mars Hill College, and entered the US Army during the Viet Nam war.

Known for his acumen in sales and high motivation in real estate technology, Rick contributed back to the community through his tireless energy through the American Legion where he instigated sending packages, especially Christmas trees, to our troops in the Iraq/Afghanistan war. He held leadership positions in 2 National Blind Golf Opens as well as invaluable work as president of the Greensboro Jaycees Old Timers.

He loved life, practical joking, enriching the lives of everyone around him and golf, but most of all, he loved his family.

Rick is survived by his wife of 42 years, Janet McCollum Sneed; daughter, Christen Sneed of Virginia Beach, VA; son Richard Talmadge “Tal” Sneed III, and his wife, Mary Morrow of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Avery and Sylar Sneed; mother and father of Winston-Salem, NC; and sister, Gloria S. Jenkins

He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Alan Sneed.
