

A graveside service with full military honors will be held Friday, 3:00 p.m., at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Bob was born August 6, 1924 in Greensboro, the son of Ervin A. and Minnie Walker McFarland.
Bob was a 1942 graduate of Greensboro High School. He was a member of Florida Street Baptist Church and worked at the Newman Machine Company for over 30 years. Bob was also a supervisor of ushers at the Greensboro Coliseum, a Lions Club member and gave over 26 gallons of blood to the American Red Cross. Bob enjoyed gardening, especially his tomatoes. He was a community minded person who never met a stranger.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Phyllis McFarland; his brother, Ervin McFarland, Jr. and his sisters, Evelyn Garrison and Beatrice McFarland.
Surviving are his daughters, Pat Satterwhite of Hickory and Lori Digh and husband Jerry of Great Falls, SC; 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday, 1:00-2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel.
