Known as “Bob,” he attended Worcester Junior College, where he earned a degree in electrical engineering. After graduation, he joined the United States Army and served in an intelligence unit overseas. During his service in Heidelberg, Germany, he met Elizabeth Brink, a Swedish native, whom he would later marry. They shared 47 years of marriage until Elizabeth’s passing in 2015.
A lifelong ham radio operator, Bob enjoyed the over-the-air friendships and electronic tinkering that came with the hobby. He loved to travel and play tennis with his wife, enjoyed boating, cars and motorcycles, and was a devoted dog lover.
Bob is survived by his two sons, Michael and David Waters; his four grandsons, Bryson, Owen, Ben and Riley Waters and his three brothers, George, Brian and Gary Waters.
A private funeral service will be held in the spring, with details forthcoming.
In lieu of flowers, Bob requested donations be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) at www.aspca.org
