A funeral service will be held Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel by Rev. Thomas G. Brown. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
Ruby was born October 7, 1920 in Greensboro, the daughter of Thomas Eugene Faircloth and Bertie Davis Faircloth.
She was retired from Cone Mills and Harris Teeter, and was a member of Northside Baptist Church since 1928.
In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Elmer Oates, and her son, Roger Dale Oates.
Surviving are her son, Thomas Edward Oates and wife Donna of High Point and two grandchildren, Kelly Marie Oates and Stephen Daniel Oates.
Friends will be received Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
