Sandra Pendse

Sandra Pendse, 78, of Greensboro, N.C. passed away on August 29th, 2023 at Cone Hospital with her family by her side. She was born to the late Lucille Virginia Merricks and Jewel Randolph Hendrix, February 14th, 1945, in Gretna Virginia. Sandra attended nursing school in Grasslands, NY.

Sandra is survived by four children: Susan Hanckel, of Cary NC; Samantha Pendse, of Cary NC; David Pendse, of Charleston, SC, and Jason Pendse, of Raleigh NC. Sandra was a very funny and witty person. She had a successful Private Investigator business for several years and was a registered nurse. Sandra was passionate about all animals, astrology, and her children.

She was an ‘original’ - she was one of the first two women Police Reserves for the Greensboro City Police Department. She especially enjoyed her Labrador retrievers and fed her back yard birds every day.

Sandra is survived by her sister and brother in law, Dixie and George Penn and her nieces, Vaughan, Elaine, Elizabeth and Georgianna Penn.
