

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 310 S. Tremont Dr. Greensboro. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Monday at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel.
Sarah was born in Surry County and moved to Greensboro in 1942. She retired in 1980 after 29 years with the Greensboro News & Record. Her hobbies included reading, walking, helping neighbors and spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Hardin was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, M.D. Hardin, Jr. She is survived by her children, Becky Bonomo (Bo), David Hardin (Ann) and Patti Parris (Wayne); grandchildren, AnnMarie Bonomo-Probert (Andy), John Bonomo (Marina), Sarah Parris DeGennaro (Jeremiah), and Joshua Parris; great-grandchildren, Sam Probert, Sophie Probert, and Austin Bonomo; sister-in-law Shirley Hardin Bell and brother-in-law, Marshall Hardin (Karen).
The family would like to thank the staff at Blumenthal Jewish Nursing and Hospice & Palliative Care of Greensboro for the kindness and care shown Sarah and her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of the Piedmont, Ebenezer Lutheran Church or Hospice & Palliative Care of Greensboro.
