Mrs. Sarah Tysor Phillips, 100, a resident of Marietta, GA and former longtime resident of Greensboro died Sunday May 3, 2015. Mrs. Phillips was born January 6, 1915 in Whitsett, NC the daughter of Charlie D. and Bessie Ingle Tysor.
She was a former employee of Sear & Roebuck & Co. working in the Advertising Department of the Catalog Division. Sarah was a member of Shannon Hill Bible Chapel.
She was married to Alex Rupert Phillips who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Irene T. Paone, Emma T. Baker, Christine T. Brown and her brothers, Fred, Lewis and Henry Tysor.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy P. Croker of Atlanta, GA; one granddaughter, Sarah Joan Smith and husband Joe of Annapolis, MD and one great granddaughter, Maggie Jean Young of Charleston, SC.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home N. Elm Chapel conducted by Pastor Mark Shelley. Interment will follow beside of her late husband Alex Phillips at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
