A funeral service, celebrating her life, will be held 7:00 pm Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel.
Born in Guilford County to the late Jesse and Hazel Goodman, Shirley was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, like cooking. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Jessica Baker of the home; son, Harold Baker, Jr., of the home; grandchildren, Lily Matney and Isaac Matney; brothers, Carl Goodman, Billy Goodman, and Pete Copple.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, following the funeral service at the funeral home, until 9:00 pm.
