Mrs. Shirley Reiser Johns

Shirley Reiser Johns passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 10, 2011 at Wesley Long Hospital. “Grammy”, as she was affectionately known, was born in Pardoe, PA. In 1987, she and her husband moved to Jamestown to be closer to their grandchildren. She was a beloved LPN at Well Spring for over 20 years. She would spend her lunch breaks with the residents, writing letters to their family and friends, or taking them out on adventures.

Her husband, Austin Gianni Johns precedes Shirley in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Jessie Stearns Reiser; three sisters, Hazel Smith, Rose Snezick, Ruth Smith and a brother, George Reiser.

Surviving are her children, Greg Johns and wife, Terry Christian of Summerfield, Jessica Wilson and her husband Tony of Greensboro, Jacqueline Buchanan of Jackson Hole, WY, Jennifer Green and her husband Scott of Bridgewater, MA; grandchildren, Christian Wilson and his wife Jodi , Rachael Wilson and her fiancé, Josh Sawyer, Gregory Wilson, Austin Johns, Anne-Christian Johns, Emily Hemming, Tyler Green, Nolan Green; nieces, Roxanne Johnson, Ruthie Lanigan and nephew, Randy Johns.

A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, October 14, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Pennybyrn at Maryfield, 1315 Greensboro Rd., High Point, NC 27260. The family will receive friends at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
