Solomon Wise

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday August 31, 2011, at Beth David Synagogue. Burial will follow at the Greensboro Hebrew Cemetery.

Born July 30, 1919, to the late Jacob Wise and Jennie Silkowitz Wise, Mr. Wise was a member of Beth David Synagogue. He has lived in Greensboro for the past 60 years and worked as a traveling salesman for a ladies apparel company. He earned the rank of Captain while serving in the United States Army during WWII with the 1st Infantry 6th Battalion, during which time he received the Bronze Star. He was also a Mason with lodge 656. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who will be dearly missed.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 70 years, Thelma Wise of the home; son, Michael Wise and his wife Barbara of Virginia; daughter, Barbara Wise Eaton and her husband Alan of Raleigh; grandsons, Scott Daniel Wise and his wife Mary and Eric Franklin Wise and his wife Laura; great-grandchildren, Sadie, Asher, and Margot Wise.
