A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 28, 2018, at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel, 515 North Elm Street. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park, 3600 North O’Henry Boulevard.
Stephen was born in Greensboro, NC and retired from O’Neil Steel of 24 years. He served in the United States Army as E4 from 1971 to 1974 during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a dedicated husband of 48 years, loving father and grandfather.
Mr. Prevatt was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Bobbie Hyatt and brothers, Terry and Jerry Prevatt. He is survived by his loving wife, Jo Anne of the home; children, Wendy Lewis and husband, Chris of King, NC, Cindy Williams and husband, Robert of Randleman, NC, Debbie Lewis and husband, Phillip of Randleman, Steven Prevatt and wife, Javanna of Franklinville, NC; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; sister, Linda Collins of Crossville, TN and brothers, Mike Prevatt of Climax, NC, David Prevatt of Grover Beach, CA, Randy Prevatt of Holden Beach, NC, and Kenny Pevatt of Bracey, VA. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m., Thursday at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel.
