Sterling "Nick" Sidney Nicholson

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 18, 2022 at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel in Greensboro. Nick will be entombed in the Sedgefield Mausoleum at Guilford Memorial Park following the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral from 10:00 until service time at the funeral home.

Nick was born October 8, 1940 in Memphis, TN to the late Morehaw Sidney and Nettie Fralich Nicholson. He was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Nick served in the United States Air Force for eight years and then began a career in the National Guard which lasted twenty-two years. Nick was a dedicated Christian family man who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. He loved bowling, playing golf and spending time with family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 59 years, Jeanette Snipes Nicholson; sister, Linda Nichols (Charles); nephews, Dewey Edge, Celeste Edge, Zachary Edge and Haden Edge; his god-family, Grady and Martha Carrigan, Chris and Carol Caldwell, Susan Carrigan, James, Catherine and Christopher Carter, Steve and Connie Carrigan and John and Lauren Smith.
