James Stephen “Steve” Brown, 66, a resident of Greensboro died May 21, 2013 at Moses H. Cone Hospital. Steve was born December 18, 1946 in Greensboro, the son of James Howard “Bill” Brown and Bessie Tyson Brown. To those on the coast, Steve's father was known as "Barnacle Bill" Brown. Steve graduated from Grimsley High School and attended Guilford College. Steve enjoyed good friends, food and music. He always said that his greatest accomplishment was his children. His family will miss him greatly.
He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Mills and husband Mark of Raleigh; his son, William Brown and wife Miranda of Greensboro; his wife, Cammie Brown of Greensboro; two sisters, Kathy Kitts and husband Les of Lake Wylie, SC, Judy Brown and husband Ronnie of Blairsville, GA and his faithful canine companion, “Samantha”.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery with the Reverend Dr. Don Clement officiating. The family will receive friends at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel on Saturday from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m.
