Stewart Quillian Little passed away on October 25, 2024, at the age of 71 in Raleigh, NC. He was born June 14,1953 in Greensboro, NC, and known for his larger-than-life personality, loud and undeniable sense of humor, and being a steadfast man of his word. Stewart graduated from Virginia Episcopal School in 1971 and furthered his education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating with a degree in Psychology in 1975. Initiated into the Zeta Psi Fraternity at Chapel Hill and elected Princeps of The Gorgon's Head Lodge, he quickly became known for natural leadership abilities that would carry him throughout his life. He was a lifelong Tar Heel. He began his illustrious career in the textile industry. Spanning almost five decades, his career began at Unifi, Inc where he spent 27 years, ultimately ending his time there as Vice President of Sales. He later led WorldTex Inc and Scovill Fasteners simultaneously as CEO until 2012, engineering turnarounds at both. Thereafter, he became Vice President of Sales at Drake Extrusion, where he finished his career. Stewart was recognized for his unique style of doing business and was a cherished mentor and colleague to many in his field.
He married Susan Oaks on November 20, 2004, and spent the last 20 years experiencing the best life had to offer alongside her, his four children, her three daughters and his many, many friends. Stewart was an avid golfer, a lover of fine wine and good food, and cherished nothing more than spending time with those he held closest. He traveled the world through work and enjoyed sharing that with those he loved. Stewart is survived by his loving wife, Susan Oaks Little (married 2004-2024); his sons, Jonathan Little (Emma) and Christopher Little; and his daughters, Elizabeth Little Wright (Kevin) and Sarah Little Mueller and his sister, Laurie Little Sebastian (Ron). He was most proud to be called "Pops" by his 15 grandchildren, with the 16th on the way. Spending time with them became the joy of his later years, always showing up with a Tootsie Pop for each child; a pop from Pops. He was preceded in death by his mother, St. Lawrence Lucas Little; his brother, Robert Claude Little Junior; and his father, Robert Claude Little. A service to honor Stewart's life will be held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Greensboro, NC, on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Tee, www.firstteecentralcarolina.org, an organization that helps children build strength and character through the integration of golf. Stewart's warm presence and unwavering integrity will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. The family will receive friends at the Greensboro Country Club following the service. Online condolences may be offered at
