He is survived by his wife, Carolyn “Carrie” Caligan, children Anna and Ian, father Tom Caligan, and sister Erin Caligan.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at his home church, Pleasant Union United Methodist Church, 5929 Coble Church Rd., Liberty, NC at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 1. A covered dish fellowship lunch will be shared by his family and friends following the service.
Brent requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to his children's education fund or to leukemia research. Donations to the education fund may be sent to Pleasant Union UMC and marked to the attention of the church treasurer.
