Thomas David Pulliam

October 2, 1942, to March 5, 2022

David Pulliam passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Saturday, March 5, 2022.

He was born in Sandersville, GA, October 2, 1942, oldest of four boys.

He is survived by his (high school sweetheart) wife, Ernestine, of sixty years, and his daughter, Pam Burleson, and her husband Ed, of Clayton NC and his two grandsons, the loves of his life, Seth and his wife, Cydney Burleson, and Mitchell Burleson. Also survived by his brothers all of Augusta, GA, Wayne Pulliam and his wife, Nancy, Randy Lamb and his wife Peggy, and Rusty Lamb and his wife Leah. David is preceded in death by his father, Thomas David Pulliam Sr., and his mother Lillian Lamb and stepfather, Louis Lamb.

David loved God, his family, his business family and friends. He was a self-made man serving a short period in the US Army, where he was honorably discharged. He became an assistant manager of Winn Dixie in Augusta, Ga. David started cutting the grass on weekends at the local plumbing supply, Hajoca and soon worked his way to credit manager at Hajoca Corporation. He transferred with Hajoca to North Carolina in 1971, where he founded Pulliam Supply in 1979. It evolved into its current Guilford Plumbing Supply May 11, 1984. David used his gifts of motivation, determination and organization to inspire others to reach beyond their potential. He found the best in people and helped them excel. David’s strength helped him overcome many hardships in his lifetime. He always loved life and looked at what might seem like an obstacle with optimism. Never giving up! Early in his career, David was involved with the Jaycees, receiving various honors, among those include the Spark Plug Award for motivation and the Key Man Award. He will always be our Key Man!

Funeral services will be held at Life Community Church, 4900 West Wendover Ave., Jamestown, NC 27282, at 11:00 am on Friday, March 11, 2022, conducted by Pastor Chad Grayson and Pastor Dean Madden. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Life Community Church on Friday from 10:00 am until service time.

In Lieu of Flowers memorials may be made in David’s memory to Life Community Church.
