

Mrs. Virginia Cowan Pryzgoda, 70, a resident of Jamestown and Bullock, NC, passed away on Monday October 6, 2014 at the Duke University Medical Center. Virginia was born May 25, 1944 in Manhattan, New York, the daughter of Richard and Rose Mary O’Donnell Cowan.
On April 11, 1964 at 11am she was married to Alan Chester Pryzgoda. Surviving in addition to her husband Alan are her daughter, Kristine Elise Pryzgoda of Raleigh; son, Craig Alan Pryzgoda and wife Kim of Fayetteville; sister, Leona Mundy and husband Steve of Beacon, NY; brother, John Cowan of Ware, NH and grandchildren, Alyssa and Will Pryzgoda.
Virginia attended Hunter College Nursing School, Fordham University and was in the class of 1989 at Greensboro College. She was a longtime member of the Cedarwood Garden Club and the Kinderton Women’s Club. She attended St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church in Clarksville, Virginia and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in High Point. Virginia was active in many charities and recently devoted her time to the Wounded Veterans, Island Creek Project.
Virginia will be missed dearly by our family and friends, of which she had many.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 High Point Road, Greensboro, NC 27407.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at11:00 a.m. Monday, October 13 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 4145 Skeet Club Road, High Point, NC 27265 with the Reverend Thomas P. Norris, OSFS officiating. Entombment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park Mausoleum in Greensboro.
