

Warren Leftwich Flannagan Jr. died suddenly at his home in Greensboro, North Carolina on January 20, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren Leftwich Flannagan and Barbara Moore Flannagan, and his uncle and aunt, Samuel Henson Flannagan and Bettie Anne Flannagan. Warren loved hiking, spending time in the outdoors and all things Native American. He was a friend to all animals, especially his dogs Cheyenne, Lakoda and Cooper, and enjoyed fostering horses, donkeys and other animals in need of a home. He was a dedicated volunteer for many organizations, including Meals on Wheels, Senior Resources of Guilford and Fellowship Hall. He is survived by his soul mate and companion, Thina Idol and daughter Gabrielle (Warren’s “Little Princess”), as well as uncles and aunts including Henry and Grace Flannagan, Allen and Virginia Flannagan, Evelyn Musselman, and Foy Miller, and numerous cousins including Elizabeth Edwards, Dorothy Flannagan, Seward Flannagan, Beverley Pegram, Susan Roth, Katherine Sheehan, Allen Flannagan, W. Ford Flannagan, Johncie Carlson and their spouses and children, and many, many friends. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm on Sunday (today) at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home, 515 N. Elm St., and funeral service will be held at 10 am on Monday, January 24 at The Sanctuary, 900 Sixteenth St., Greensboro, North Carolina. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Pilots Lane, Richmond, Virginia at 3 pm on Monday. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Red Dog Farm Animal Rescue Network, 5803 Bur-Mil Club Road, Greensboro, NC 27410.
