Willie was truly one of a kind.  He worked with my daddy and always had a memory when I needed it most.  He was a giving person, coming to me and my my late mother's rescue on many occasions, and bringing us meals from the church.  I will miss his quick wit and the infectious smile that he always had.  Tho he has passed to Glory I know we will all see each other again.  May God wrap his arms around you, Carol and David, as you move forward in these difficult days.  Thank you God for sharing your most special son with us.  Godspeed Willie.  Til we meet again.....

Willie was the best of the best with his kind heart, loving and giving personality, never knew a stranger and do anything for you at anytime!  We love you dearly Willie!  We will miss you at church, lunch after church, social gatherings, gamenight at church and going out to eat! Willie was a dear friend with a heart of gold. Whenever the church doors were open, Willie was there. We loved traveling with Willie and Carol. We’ve had wonderful times together. Willie, we will miss you dear friend💙

Never got to work with Willie ,  but we had many conversations.  Got to travel with him and Carol many years ago to Vegas were he was the high winner.  He was that person who you were just drawn too when he was around and always had kind words.  He will be missed greatly !!!

Carol and David, please know that Willie will always be in our hearts. May he now rest in peace.  I always enjoyed working with him at the FD, and seeing you and him out in the community.  He has always been one of a kind.

Met Willie on our Cruise to Cuba, seems like he and I ran into each other on the ship just about everyday. I found out he was a retired FF from Greensboro and knew my older brother also a retired FF from Greensboro. Shared several early morning conversations and memories of the GFD  over coffee on the Pool deck. Funny he and Carol were also on the last Mayberry Cruise we took before Covid hit, Willie was always quick to share a smile and kind word then as well.  From all I’ve heard since meeting Willie and my interactions with him he was “one of the good ones” for sure and will be missed by all that knew him. 

RIP Willie, I'll c u again! Prayers to Carol and David.   

What a kind soul.  You were such a remarkable person.  You took care of your family like no other.
