

Greensboro: Wilson Davis Trotter, 85, passed away August 19, 2012 at Brighton Gardens after a long illness. Born in Reidsville on May 12, 1927 he was the son of the late Benjamin Carter Trotter and Maude Gillikin Trotter.
A private burial will be conducted and the family will gather with friends 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Funeral Home, 515 N. Elm St., Greensboro, NC.
Mr. Trotter attended Woodberry Forest prior to joining the Navy in 1944, where he was stationed on a destroyer in Subic Bay, Japan. After his naval discharge and high school graduation from Riverside Military Academy, he attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he received a BA in political science. While in college he was very active in the SAE Fraternity.
Wilson was a former sates representative for Dillard Paper Company in Greensboro for over thirty years and retired to be a counselor in substance abuse at Fellowship Hall. He was honored by the staff at Fellowship Hall for being an outstanding Counselor and kind loving person. He will be remembered for being a gentle and kind person who loved life and those around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Hunter Gillikin Trotter and Benjamin Carter Trotter, Jr.
Surviving are his wife Jacqueline Walker Trotter; his sons, Wilson Davis Trotter, Jr., Seaton Cooper Trotter and his wife Betty; Hunter Smoak Trotter and his wife Ruth-Ellen; daughter, Lee Trotter Dixon and her husband Richard; twelve grandchildren, Wil and Jill Trotter, Gray Trotter, Abbot Trotter, Sarah Carpenter, Laine and Drew Rendleman, Seaton Trotter, Hunter Trotter, Jr. Ryan and Ashly Trotter, Lynnsey Trotter, Eliza Trotter, Elizabeth Dixon, Richard Dixon; two great-grandchildren Ella and Liem Rendleman; and his brother-in-law, Charles A. Walker, III and his wife Vickie.
