

Mrs. Zelma Jean Koury, 70, a resident of McLeansville went home to be with the Lord Friday morning August 29, 2014 at Beacon Place. Zelma was born March 23, 1944 in Hinton, W.VA, the daughter of Samuel George and Leva Armenta Graham Smith. She worked 19 years for Cone Mills at the Whiteoak Plant. She then later worked at Woolworths and Jersey Mikes. She was a member of McConnell Road Baptist Church. Zelma was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Velma Richards.
She is survived by her husband, Emo Richard Koury of the home; four daughters, Lolita Plumley and Brett Smith of Whitsett, Tammie Medley and husband Garland of Greensboro, Sandra Hege and husband Randall of Pleasant Garden, Jacklin Wells of Trinity; one son, Harold “Bud” Plumley and wife Tonya of Greensboro; 10 grandchildren, “D.J.” Beard and wife Becky, Gary Plumley, Patricia Hege, Holly Plumley, Cody Plumley, Garland John Medley, Jr., Bradley Smith, Harley Medley, Desa Wells, Shyanne Wells; six great grandchildren, Haiden Plumley, Bryson, Cruthis, Lucas Hunt, Gavin Beard, Kaybree Beard, Levi, Plumley; four sisters; five brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the McConnell Road Baptist Church conducted by the Reverend Wayne Wright. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
