Gary J. Gilchrist, 68 of Indianapolis, passed away on Friday, February 07, 2014, at the St. Vincent Hospice Facility in Indianapolis. Gary was born on May 12, 1945, in Greensburg, the son of John and Lucille Gilchrist. He was a 1963 graduate of Broad Ripple High School.
Gary worked for Goodwill Industries and also volunteered for many local organizations including various libraries and the Indianapolis School for the Deaf. He was a member of the Tabernacle Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his brother Duane (Diane) Gilchrist, his sister Anne (Rick) Meils and several nieces and nephews all of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Gary’s funeral service will begin at 11:30AM on Monday, February 10 at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home in Greensburg. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery in Greensburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Autism Society of Indiana.
