

Mary Lou Karmon, 81 of Greensburg, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016 at her residence. Mary Lou was born on August 23, 1935 in Grant County, Indiana, the daughter of Jack and Vera (Poindexter) Mann. Mary Lou was a 1953 graduate of the Sandcreek Township High School, now known as South Decatur. Mary Lou married Bob Karmon in 1984 in Groton, Connecticut and he preceded her in death on July 14, 2004.
As a young woman, Mary Lou worked at Murphy’s Dime Store as a cashier and then later in life worked as a home health caregiver for many years. Mary Lou enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, crafts, antiques, playing cards and dinners with family and friends.
Survivors include her two daughters – Michelle (Pattee) Furan-Sullivan of Dunedin, FL and Denise (Wesley) Wilson of Rineyville, Ky; her two sons – Michael (Vicki) Sininger of Augusta, GA and Douglas Sininger of Columbus, OH; two sisters – Camilla “Sue” Oathout of Greensburg and L. June (Budd) Ryle of Greensburg; one brother Calvin “Butch” (Donna) Mann of Greensburg; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Joseph and Jerry Mann.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 10AM until the start of the funeral service at 12PM at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice of Batesville, the Greensburg Adult Center or the donor’s choice.
