Michael Dean Greer, 58, of Shelbyville, Indiana, a beloved brother and friend, tragically lost his life on December 14, 2025. Mike was born on July 29, 1967, in Rushville, Indiana to Jimmie Dean and Wanda Sue Greer. Throughout his life, he touched the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Michael will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family and friends, a love that guided his actions, inspired his generosity, and reflected the strength of his heart. Whether offering a helping hand, sharing a thoughtful word, of making others laugh, Michael’s presence brought warmth and light to those around him.
Mike faced many challenges throughout his life, but he never stopped striving to become a better man. His path wasn’t always easy, but through it all, he leaned on his faith and trusted that God had a plan for him. He found hope and strength in prayer, in his family’s love, and in the fellowship of his Christian motorcycle ministry. He worked hard to stay on the right track, determined to walk in faith and grace each day. His perseverance and courage were a true reflection of God’s redeeming power and love.
He loved singing and playing old country songs on his guitar. Music was his way of sharing joy with others and keeping the spirit of those timeless tunes alive. He also found freedom and fellowship on the open road, riding his Harley with his Christian Motorcycle Ministry Group, Iron Sharpens Iron, where he shared his faith and brotherhood with those who rode alongside him.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Jack Edward Sweet; mother, Wanda Sue Claffey (James); sister, Cecile Irene Sweet; maternal grandfather, James Frank “Daddy Frank” Davis; maternal grandmother, Edna “Nanny” Taylor Davis; uncles, Carl Wayne Davis and James Everett Davis; aunts, Shirley Kay Davis (Yocum) and Betty Jean Davis (Baker). Their love and guidance shaped the man he became, and their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.
He is survived by his sisters, Peggy Sue Manos (John), Doris Jayne Keller (William) and Angela Faye Gerardi (Robert); seven nieces and nephews, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will forever cherish his memory. Michael’s legacy will live on in the lives he touched and the love he freely gave.
A memorial service celebrating Michael’s life will be held on March 21, 2026, at a location to be determined where family and friends are invited to share stories and pay their respects.
Although his life was taken far too soon, Michael will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the goodness, laughter and love he brought into the world.
May he find his rest and be gently led home, where peace and love await him in eternal light. “Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord.”- Matthew 25:23
