

Oliver M. Hunter 87 of Greensburg, IN. passed away Tuesday October 9, 2012 at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. He was born October 12, 1924 in Greensburg, IN. the son of Herbert Calvin and Florine (Meek) Hunter. He was a 1942 graduate of Greensburg High School, and received a degree form Indiana University, and then received his Pharmacist Degree from Butler University in 1951. He was a registered Pharmacist for over 40 years and was Co-Owner of Hunters Pharmacy with his brother Bill. He served in the U. S. Navy from June 8, 1943 until December 21, 1945 and received a Purple Heart while serving in the Pacific. He was a member of the Kiwanis, VFW, American Legion and the First Presbyterian Church of Greensburg were he was a lifelong Elder, and former Sunday School Teacher. He married Marian Louise (Luken) Hunter on July 17, 1957 and she survives at the home. Oliver enjoyed his travels to Asia and Europe which he took in the 1980s.
He is survived by one Son: Tim Hunter of Indianapolis, IN., two Grandsons: Derek and Tyler Hunter and two Granddaughters: Megan and Kristen Hunter, one Brother: William (Marge) Hunter of Greensburg, IN., numerous Nieces and Nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and one Son: Steven Hunter in December of 1990.
Friends may call at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Friday October 12, 2012 from 4:00 until 8:00PM with the funeral service held on Saturday October 13, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in the South Park Cemetery with Graveside Military Honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Greensburg.
