Paul "Pj" Joseph Schasney

Paul Joseph “PJ” Schasney, 67 of Greensburg, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2018. Paul was born on May 29, 1951 in Palmerton, Pennsylvania, the son of Joseph and Margaret “Peg” (Zucuskie) Schasney. After graduating St. Mary’s High School in Newton Falls, Ohio, he attended The Ohio State University where he graduated in 1974 with his Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering. Paul married Barbara Holtkamp on June 8, 1979 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg and she survives. Other survivors include his two children - Jill (David) Fuel and Thomas (Sarah) Schasney; his father Joseph Schasney; and four grandchildren – Cole, Hannah and Landen Fuel and Ronnie Elliott all of Greensburg. He was preceded in death by his mother. Paul worked in Quality Control and Quality Audits for Bohn, BCA and retired in 2017 from ABM. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Minneapolis Moline Collectors Association. He was a past member of the Greensburg Corvette Club and local bowling league. He enjoyed spending time with his wife cutting material for her to quilt and also spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid antique tractor collector with his son; together they own a collection of 66 tractors that they have acquired over 11 states. Family and friends may gather at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 3:30PM to pray the Rosary. Visitation will follow from 4PM – 8PM also at the funeral home. Visitation will be held at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Friday, August 3, 2018 from 9:30AM until the funeral mass begins at 10AM with Fr. John Meyer officiating. Burial will be at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary’s Catholic School.
