

Ronald Edward McCracken, 74, of Greensburg passed away on March 16, 2012 at the Columbus Regional Hospital. He was born on May 10, 1937 in Shelby County, Indiana the son of James and Beatrice (Lindner) McCracken. Ron was a 1955 graduate of St. Paul High School. He was a United States Army Veteran serving his country from 1955-1958. On July 3, 1959 he married Connie Campbell. Ron was a Supervisor at KS Bearings for 38 years before he retired. He was a quiet humble man. He loved fishing, hunting, and coaching when he was younger. In his later years he enjoyed golf, gardening, and traveling. He loved the Lord, his Family, and his special dog Lady. He also loved the members of the Golden Rule Sunday School Class at First Christian Church, where he has served as a Deacon and Elder.
Survivors include: Wife- Connie McCracken, Son- Donald (Wife- Gena) McCracken, Daughter- Bonnie (Husband-Richard) Fischer, Son- John (Wife-Deanna) McCracken, Brothers- Roger (Wife- Barbara) McCracken and Steven (Wife Pam) McCracken, Sisters- Patricia (Husband- James) Margison and Kate Hasecuster, Sister in Law- Gertrude McCracken, Grandchildren- Jordan, Cory, and Halle Fischer, Justin and Alex McCracken, and Megan and Morgan McCracken. He was preceded in death by: Parents and Brother- James “Mac” McCracken.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Monday, March 19, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Danny Wolford will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Hebron Cemetery in Adams, Indiana. Memorial contributions can be made to the First Christian Church or to the American Cancer Society.
