She was preceded in death by her parents, Euturpy (Bailey) and Chester Thomas, husband of 27 years Wayne Slyder, brother William Thomas, sister Betty Grubb, brother Dewight Thomas, half-brother Richard Dill, and half-sister Joan Vance, along with 2 infant granddaughters.

She is survived by her son Tony (Irene) Wirrig of Greenville, daughters Kimberly (Jeff) peters of Ansonia and Jeannie (Bryan) Birt of Columbus; grandchildren, Amie (John) Jackson of Troy, Elisabeth (Grant) Spitler of Knoxville, TN, Scott (Raeanne) Wirrig of Xenia, Jeffrey (Kaitlyn) Wirrig of Greenville, Shane (Makinzi) Peters of Ansonia, Nick (Michaela) Peters of Middletown, Alexis Birt (Isacc Charles) of Columbus, Mitchell Birt of Columbus; great-grandchildren Leah and Isaiah Jackson, Carson and Caden peters, Vivianne Spitler, and a new baby Peters on the way, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Tony Price officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Private burial will take place in Ansonia Cemetery.
