

Donald Thomas Wills, age 78 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Donald was born on July 18, 1947, in Greenville, Ohio, the son of the late Thomas and Kathryn (Isenhouer) Wills.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his nephew, Charles Combs.
He is survived by his daughter, Leah (Jay) Warren; his grandchildren, Logan Jamison, Emma (Chris Jones) Jamison, Hunter McCafferty and Jaykob Warren; his sister and best friend Cheryl Wills, sisters Christine (Gary) Moody and Mary Susan (Virgil) Combs; nieces Tammy (Jack) Deitering and Susan Dynes, nephews Jimmy (Kandee) Combs and Terry Moody, as well as numerous great nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends. He will also be greatly missed by his German Shepherd, Cooper Lee.
Donald’s family and friends will forever remember him as “Big D”. Don was a 1966 graduate from Greenville High School. After finishing school, he worked at American Aggregates and Frigidaire until he was drafted into the United States Army where he served his country faithfully in Vietnam. Upon returning home, he went to work for General Motors until retirement.
Don was a true outdoors man. He loved hunting, fishing and was a gun enthusiast. He enjoyed making muzzleloaders, several for close friends and family. He was a member of the Fort Greenville Muzzleloaders for many years. Don was a “Motor Head” who loved all things cars. He especially enjoyed drag racing and working on hot rods.
He will be remembered as a strong, selfless, family man who also carried a bit of a stubborn streak at times. He was the “patriarch of the family as well as their superhero”. Lastly, the family wishes to thank all who cared for Don during his recent illness, notably those at Rest Haven and Kindred Hospital of Dayton.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Steve Short officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
Don’s family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
