Doris Mikesell

Doris R. Mikesell, age 91 of Greenville, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at the Versailles Health & Rehab Center, Versailles, Ohio. Born in Darke County, Ohio on September 19, 1930 she was a daughter to the late Clarence F. & Alice C. (Meier) Rhoades. Doris was a Greenville High School Graduate, class of 1948. She retired from Neff after 30 years. Doris was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church, and once they closed, she became a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She was very active in her church life, including Sunday school, church activities and functions. In her younger years, she enjoyed going camping and sewing. She will truly be missed. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Russell J. Mikesell: sister Phyllis Pouder: grandson Shane Unger: son-in-law James O’Connor.

Survived by her daughters Pam & Thomas Marsh; Connie O’Connor; Jann & Michael Unger: grandchildren Aaron & Stephanie Marsh; Alicia & Willie Hinkle; James “Rusty” & Michelle O’Connor; Rodney & Angie O’Connor; April & Cody Austin; Shawn & Marianne Unger; Shad & Amanda Unger: 18 great-grandchildren: 1 great-great grandchild: brother- in-laws Chester Pouder; John Mikesell: sister-in-laws Moleta Mikesell; Shirley Mikesell; Helen Clapp: her dog companion “Boots”: as well as many cousins and extended family members.

Friends may call on the family on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, OH. Funeral service to be held on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 10:30 AM at the St. John’s Lutheran Church, with Pastor Alliyah Greaver presiding. Burial to follow at Greenville Cemetery.
