

Dorothy was born on July 21,1936, in Carbonear, Newfoundland to the late Ralph and Mildred (Butt) Pike.
In addition to her parents, she was welcomed into heaven by her sisters: Jean (Graham) Auchinleck, Ruby Churchill, Irene (George) Lambert, Nancy Oates, and Phyllis Pike; her brothers: Edward and Ralph Jr (Jean) Pike; brothers-in-law: Dave Slade and William Oates.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, the love of her life, Gene Shively whom she married on July 20, 1963; her daughters, Tina L. (Quint) Shuttleworth and Lynn (Matthew) Watkins; her grandchildren, Jaclyn Watkins, Colleen Watkins, Connor Watkins, and Ronan Watkins; her siblings, Mary (Clyde) Butt, Clara Oates, Barbara Slade, Cyril (Rita) Pike, Sam (Barbara) Pike, Graham (Angela) Pike; her brothers-in-law, Winston Churchill and Martin Oates; and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was the oldest of 14 children and helped to raise her siblings. She was a lifelong homemaker who loved to bake, garden, sew, knit and crochet. She was a member of the New Madison Auxiliary Post 245.
As per Dorothy’s wishes, no services are planned at this time.
